the purple shawl of death

the purple shawl of death gets no picture- you'll just have to take my word for it that it's finished. i used this pattern with this yarn (in lilac) for the m-i-l to be. there's nothing wrong with it really, except that it turned out to be a diamond instead of a triangle. i imagine that, with working on it on and off for over a year, i managed to do more increases in the middle, than on the sides. i can't think of another explanation? it's blocking right now- hopefully that will lessen the damage.

my black bean soup, however, came out extremely well.
